Nel is a sociologist, designer & illustrator based in the Netherlands. They use vibrant figures and bold colors to challenge systemic injustices to make space for new possibilities of being.

Blending fashion, intimate storytelling and imagined futures, NelNel aims to blur lines between reality / fiction, binary / non-binary and past / future in an effort to queer and re-imagine new worlds of being.

Nel’s work can be described as a reimagining of a world where all bodies belong. Their work interrogates questions surrounding power, politics, identity and healing. 

What has started as a personal urge to question systems of power and discover their own identities, is transforming into a platform that drives solidarity, joy and healing to make our imagined worlds become reality.
